Privacy policy

Last updated:

We decide how your information is used and are responsible for it under India’s Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules on personal data, and under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 as its duties come into force.

Information we collect

When you join the waitlist, we store:

  • Your name
  • A phone number or an email address, whichever you choose to give
  • Your answers to the two consent questions, which version of their wording you saw, and the time you joined
  • The apartment or area you typed, and the service area it matched, if any
  • The garments and quantities in your basket, and its total

When you use the contact form: your name, email address, the topic you chose, your message and the time you sent it.

When you book: your name, phone number, address and flat number, the location pin you confirm, the garments and how many, any notes you add, your order history, and whether each order is paid. If you raise a claim, the photos and bills you send us. If you ask us to leave your clothes at your door or with security, the photo we take as proof. Card details go straight to Razorpay; we never see or store them.

As you use the site:

  • Our own usage events: the name of the event (for example “basket started”), the time, a random ID made in your browser tab and stored with each event, the page, and non-personal details such as garment counts and order totals.
  • Google Analytics: the pages you view and our usage events: event names and non-personal details such as garment counts and order totals, never your name, phone number or email address. Google also records your device and browser type and your approximate location (city level), and sets cookies named _ga and _ga_… to recognise a returning browser.
  • Spam protection: when a form or event reaches us, we keep a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your network (IP) address in a short-lived counter. The address itself is not stored.
  • On your device: your basket and the area you checked are saved in your own browser so you can pick up where you left off. The apartment or area you type reaches us only when you send a form.

We never put your name, phone number, email or address into our analytics.

We do not collect passwords, health information or card numbers.

How we use information

  • Waitlist: to tell you when Tuxy can pick up from your address. You agreed to this with the box “Message me when Tuxy can pick up from my address.” Only if you also ticked “Also send me occasional Tuxy offers.” do we send offers. Both boxes start unticked.
  • Contact form: to reply to you.
  • Bookings: to collect and return your clothes, count them, contact you about your order, take payment, send your GST invoice, and handle complaints and refunds.
  • Usage events and analytics: to see how many people use each step of the site, which prices and pages work, and where people get stuck, and to measure our ads. We look at these as totals, not to follow one person.
  • Keeping the site safe: to block spam and abuse.
  • The law: to keep records that tax law requires, and to respond to lawful requests from authorities.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for anything you would not expect from the list above.

Your choices and rights

  • Stop messages: reply STOP to any waitlist message, use the unsubscribe link in any email, or write to us through the contact page. Stopping offers does not remove you from the waitlist unless you ask.
  • See, correct or delete your information: write to us through the contact page and include the phone number or email you gave us, so we can find your details and check it is you.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it. This does not undo anything we did before you withdrew it.
  • Nominate someone to use these rights for you if you die or become unable to.
  • Analytics: You can block cookies in your browser, or install Google’s opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we post the new version here with a new date. If a change affects how we use information you have already given us, we tell you by email or message first, and ask again for your consent where the law requires.
